My Language Learning Journey - Lingua Nova

 

I started my language learning journey a long time ago. Back in 1995, I taught my first English class as a foreign language—it was an exciting and nerve-wracking experience. I still remember how thrilled (and a little nervous) I was standing in front of my students for the first time. That opportunity came thanks to the university where I was studying Language Education, and it completely shaped my path.

Since then, I’ve continued learning, adapting, and finding new ways to help my students reach their goals. Teaching languages isn’t just about grammar and vocabulary—it’s about understanding how each person learns differently and guiding them in a way that works for them. No two students are the same, and that’s what makes this journey so fascinating.

Even now, after all these years, I still love what I do. In fact, I learn just as much from my students as they learn from me. Every class brings something new, and that’s what keeps this journey exciting.

Comencé mi aprendizaje de idiomas hace mucho tiempo. En 1995, tuve la oportunidad de dar mi primera clase de inglés como lengua extranjera, fue muy emocionante y estaba algo nerviosa ya que era la primera vez en frente de un grupo. Esta oportunidad me la dio la universidad donde estaba estudiando Docencia de Idiomas y moldeó mi camino. 

Con el tiempo, he seguido mejorando mis habilidades y actualizándome para ayudar a mis estudiantes a alcanzar sus objetivos. Enseñar un idioma no es solamente gramática y vocabulario. Es también entender cómo cada persona aprende diferente y facilitarles ese proceso de aprendizaje y desarrollo de sus habilidades. No hay alumnos iguales y eso es lo que hace fascinante este camino.

Hoy en día, después de todos estos años, me encanta lo que hago. De hecho,  sigue siendo un extraordinario viaje de aprendizaje porque yo también aprendo algo nuevo de mis alumnos todos los días.
